Team Malawi is back from Youth Commonwealth Games which started with the Opening Ceremony 04 August 2023 and run until 11th August, 2023 with a Closing Ceremony.
The team arrived through Kamuzu International airport yesterday 14 August 2023.
In Swimming, Luka Smit has beat the National record and finished 30 in men 50m freestyle with 25.44 and Chisomo Haiya finished 50 in women 50m freestyle with 30.41seconds.
In Para-Athletics, Misheck Chigonja reached Finals of 100m and finished on position 7 in men category with 17.55 seconds. In athletics, Amanda Khondowe reached semi finals she finished on position 12 in 100m with 12.53 and finished 17 in 200m women category with 26.28 in preliminaries. Ethel Chisiza, finished 12 in preliminaries of women 400m with 1.01.85 seconds while in 800m finished 17 in 800m women category with 2.40.06. Samuel Gunde finished 32 in 100m men category with 12.08 seconds.
The Games were held in Trinidad and Tobago.
