Malawi Olympic Committee at the weekend drilled sports administrators during a two-day course held in the cities of Lilongwe and Blantyre.
Speaking during the closing ceremony on Sunday, MOC Vice President Flora Mwandira said they organized the course for associations` Presidents, Secretary General. Coaches, Team Managers and Athletes to sharpen their skills and knowledge about Olympic Values.
“We chose the people from associations because some of them have new members and we want them to be in line with MOC and Olympic Solidarity spirit,” she said.
Mwandira appealed to all the participants to utilize the course to improve their associations.
“Such kind of courses are offered with blessings from International Olympic Committee (IOC). So take it seriously,” she said.
However, the MOC Veep urged associations to encourage women to take up leadership positions.
The course was attended by members from some of the associations from Swimming, Cycling, Handball, Hockey, Taekwondo, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Netball, Wrestling, Volleyball and Athletics.
