Malawi Olympafrica Centre in partnership with Norges IdrettsForbund (NIF) and Malawi Olympic Committee (MOC) conducted a sports sustainability workshop with the objective to empower the youth with skills that will make them sustain their lives within or outside the Olympafrica Centre, school and their homes.

During the workshop, athletes produced bracelets, briquet, dolls and portraits out of beans, beads and papers. The workshop also incorporated a Tree Planting exercise since sports is now being used as a tool to lobby for environmental preservation. Judo and Taekwondo Athletes also showcased their skills.

The Norges idrettsforbund (NIF) through Rune Arctander the Director of International Relations and Susanne Brovold Hvidsten the Program Advisor, International Development Cooperation, has commended the sustainability workshop for being a good tool of empowering athletes as well as encouraging self reliance.

The Sustainability workshop which was held at the Olympafrica Centre in Lilongwe is one of components of O! Yes which is a Programme being headed by the International Olympafrica foundation.
